In celebration of 100 years of service and learning in our community, we encourage our UWC membership to contribute to these important scholarships. As a member of UWC, this is an incredible way to leave a legacy through our organization!
As part of the University of Georgia Bicentennial Celebration in 1984-1985, The University Woman’s Club (UWC) established the UWC First Ladies Scholarship. In 1986, contributions were made to honor Mrs. Fred Davidson, and a second scholarship was established, the Dianne C. Davidson Graduate Scholarship. These special scholarships provide support for an undergraduate(s) and graduate student(s) who are residents of Georgia and who display high merit and financial need.
A highlight of our spring luncheon is hearing these students speak about the significance of these scholarships. Their moving life stories, coupled with their successes at UGA, reaffirm the importance of these awards in the lives of our recipients. Since establishment, UWC has awarded over 60 scholarships totaling more than $133,000.
Gifts to the scholarship fund may be made at any time, and all scholarship gifts are tax deductible as allowed by law.
