Interest Groups are designed for UWC members to promote friendship and social outings as well as enjoyment of hobbies and other interests.
Groups function independently with the leadership of group chairs on a designated schedule to avoid conflicts with other Interest Groups or UWC meetings and events.
To participate in an Interest Group, contact the chairperson to see if groups are meeting and if they are open for new members. Some groups have size limits. Only dues-paying members of UWC are eligible to participate in the Interest Groups.
Timely information and announcements from each Interest Group are published monthly in the UWC Newsletter.
AFTERNOON BRIDGE
Meets Every Fourth Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.
The group meets on a rotating schedule at the homes of the members who are willing and able to host. Each player contributes $1 at each meeting to cover small prizes.

Though the group is full, please sign up as a substitute to be contacted when needed to fill in or when someone drops out. Each month, two members bring light refreshments.

Meets Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. at the UGA Golf Course Driving Range.
This group is designed for beginners or those who need a refresher. Golf clubs and balls are provided. The instructor’s cost is $25 per person for group lessons.
Lessons are provided September, October, November, March, April and May. Other opportunities for practice and play are available.

The group takes monthly outings to explore the unique offerings of the University of Georgia. We try to find the hidden gems that make our university unique, including different departments, art and museums, and sporting arenas. Join us as we spend our time learning more about the campus we love.

Currently meets once a month in the evening dates vary from August/September through May.
Members take turns hosting, with Co-Chairs helping with wine selection and/or purchasing. Cost for each event is $18-$20 per person, never to exceed $25 per person. Based on hostess accommodations, participation is limited to no more than18 per meeting.

Members will convene to familiarize themselves with each other, Board members, and other UWC participants. The agenda will encompass the history of UWC, current opportunities for academic pursuits, personal development, and the cultivation of friendships. Additionally, there will be discussions on how members can contribute to the growth and sustained provision of meaningful fellowship within UWC.
